Tempo Run

I got my half marathon pace (or tempo) running in this morning, but it was tough. My muscles hurt from skiing yesterday. I loosened up and felt better as I went. I am still surprised how slow I have gotten. I have been doing only long slow running for several years now, concentrating on ultras. But I kind of thought that if I wanted to I could still run fast. I guess speed is one of those "use it or loose it" kind of things. I still want to concentrate on ultras, but would like to get a little leg speed back. I'll keep at it and if I don't get any faster I can accept it.
